The moment I walked into Suze’s studio in 2008 I knew I’d found my home! The quirky, welcoming atmosphere, the energy I felt and shared with the instructors and other students, and the challenge of the physical practice were exactly what I’d been searching for for years.
As a tattoo artist and belly dance instructor I have a fascination with the body: how it works, moves, flows.
My practice at DPYP! has helped me connect with the innate wisdom of the body… and so, so much more! Beyond just a way to build strength, flexibility, and my mind-body connection for dancing; more than just working out the kinks from long hours of sitting and bending forward tattooing; Yoga has shown me how amazing it is to truly be present In my life and in my body. It has given me the gift of knowing that we are all a part of the world, and that every drop of energy we send out has a ripple effect that keeps spreading out from us, even beyond where we can see it.
It seems to me, therefore, that the natural progression of my practice is to teach it, to help give out the gift that I have been given, and that I can see is an equally wonderful thing for my fellow students and teachers.
Beautiful practice at noon today, loved it, great energy! You’re so pretty:)!
Star’s practice on Saturday was really wonderful. Star does a great job of explaining the poses and the proper alignment. I particularly enjoy that she explains the proper foot and hip placement each time. Every time Star explained a pose, it helped me grow in my practice and I felt that I learned something new about each pose. Her continual encouragement and information gives me the strength to work harder. I look forward to her next class!
