In this moment and in this time, in this breath and every breath, there is an opportunity to choose how to flow on and off the mat. “With excellence and integrity” my father would say. “With heart and soul” my Granny always says. “Grace and more grace” I meditate upon every day.

This life is a gift, each person with their own journey, living according to their spiritual truth, and yet sharing more commonalities than differences.  For in my journey, the calling came at a young age that I was designed to serve in the healthcare community. This has led to a life of caring for patients from the intensive care unit to the emergency room, to teaching anatomy and surgical procedures, to prayer and meditation, to swimming and triathlons, to the church pew and to the art of yoga.

It has been a journey of living coast to coast, traveling the world, looking into the eyes of a new born child to the eyes of a hungry man, and to an awakening that no matter what language you speak, or what time zone you live in, people want to love and be loved.

So every day, I physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, unroll my mat, open my heart and pray for the ability to hear with the ears of love, see with the eyes of love, and speak with the words of love.

And as we come together in this beautiful yoga space, we share a part of our journey for a moment, for a time, for a breath. For as you enter the studio, step onto the mat, and you begin to breathe, you have consciously made a choice of wanting something more, something different, whatever that may be. It is in that choosing, that I am thankful and grateful to be here with you, to serve you, and to encourage you as you flow.

With excellence and integrity, heart and soul, grace and more grace………Namaste.

  • I finally got to take one of Kendra’s classes and it was amazing! It was a particularly trying routine but she talked through the poses so well that I was able to work harder and longer without even realizing it! I can see the difference in my arm lines today!!! I am really happy Kendra is teaching at DPYP!. She is a great addition to the stellar lineup of transformers.
