I feel like years went by and I was not ‘awake.’

Right before I graduated from college in 1996, I got an infinity tattoo on the top of my foot. During that time of transitioning to the ‘real world’ I began to study meditation and would use the ‘infinity’ as a reminder to Be True to MySelf always, and no matter what. My journey was leading me to self-study, and yoga was a perfect fit to help quiet my ‘monkey mind’ and my constant complaining about not finding the perfect job, etc’ I needed to wake up.

When I first walked through the doors of Suze’s studio in 2002 and saw her words ‘Be True To YourSELF’ on the mirrors and then began my practice by hanging over and seeing my own personal mantra on my foot, I knew I was home. I belonged here. I would grow here on the mats, but most importantly, in my life.It was here I first became conscious of my ‘awakening.’

I received my 200 hr. Certified Yoga Teacher Certification (thru the Yoga Alliance) in October 2006. It was enlightening and re-opened my heart to the vast possibilities of my life. Everything I’ve ever done in my life led up to the moment I received my certificate.

From the time I was 8 years old, leading all of the neighborhood kids in headstand contests…From the time I graduated from college and knew I just COULDN’T work for a large corporation and feel sucked dry of my creative energy I was meant to share with the world…From becoming a wife and mother’From my readings of so many books on healing the body with the mind, naturally…From my personal yoga practice to helping as ‘Creative Flow’ with Suze and our students.

All of these things have been a part of my awakening. It is a daily process for me ~ believe me ~ its going to take this lifetime to become a person who RESPONDS, rather than reacts to all situations.

In my classes, we all share an experience and together we are awakening to something higher. I am humbled to be guiding a yoga class, as I know we’re all on a different journey.

I wish for you what I wish for me, Be TRUE to YourSELF and remain open to what happens ~

Namaste
