I have loved yoga since attending my first class around ten years ago. I attended a ‘power yoga’ class at the gym where I belonged, given by an instructor who was passionate about what she was teaching ‘ which is unusual for open classes in most gyms. She soon moved on, but I had the yoga bug.

I discovered (at age 41) this secret to continued physical and mental health. My joint stiffness eased and the occasional stress-induced neck pain ceased. Having been obsessed all of my adult life with weight, diet and exercise – I experienced (a few years earlier) the tragic loss of a good friend who had struggled with bulimia and ultimately died as a result of using diet pills. From that experience I gained the determination to be REALLY RESPONSIBLE for myself, to be positive, and to be aware of dangerous obsessions in others for whom I cared.

So – I found a new place to practice ‘- Suze’s Dynamic Power Yoga PLUS! Here I found support for my determination; and, as my own practice transformed and grew, I found the desire to help others grow, also. Now as I lead classes and help the students, I continue to grow and learn (in my own practice) and in my life. My favorite lesson I continue to learn (at this point) is letting go of the need to achieve and to allow the growth to happen . . . . and it does!’

  • Anne’s class this evening was really nice. She does such a great job of showing students each of the poses and potential modifications. Her voice is calm and relaxing and her low-stress attitude makes students feel welcome and uninhibited to try their best. Anne is also really good about helping students correct their poses in a way that will assist students in their current and future practice. It was a perfect way to start the week!

I really appreciated Anne’s class last week, because she was very helpful with modifications for me because I am having a hard time with my joints. The class was a rather difficult one, but her attitude was great and I was so happy to have skipped the st patricks day parade and come to yoga that day!
